From the moment I launched Monopoly Megaways, I was pleased to see that it’s completely on-brand. The game looks just like the classic board game, from the heavy use of green to the famous locations. Mr. Monopoly, the fancy fellow wearing a top hat, stays on the screen while you play, too.
The locations are lined up at the bottom of the screen, and they shift from right to left as Mr. Monopoly zips ahead to a new spot. The reels sit in the center of the screen, and the symbols are in keeping with the established Monopoly style.
The music in Monopoly Megaways deserves a special mention, too. Not only does it have an exciting sound that fits the game’s fast pace, but its sophisticated edge is in keeping with the Monopoly brand.
How to Play Monopoly Megaways
Monopoly Megaways has 6 reels, up to 7 symbols on each, and as many as 117,649 ways to win on any spin. To scoop a payout, you need to land matching symbols on adjacent reels (from left to right). The Top Hat symbol pays out for two or more in a combination, while the rest of the symbols only award prizes for three or more.
If you win, Mr. Monopoly will advance to the space below the rightmost reel containing winning symbols. Landing on specific spaces will activate bonuses, which I’ll cover below.

While Monopoly Megaways is highly volatile, I managed to win many times during my playthrough. However, the payouts were very small for the most part (e.g. $0.15 on a $1 bet). The Reactions feature kicked in often, though, and awarded two or more wins on the same spin.

- Train Stations: When you land on a Train Station the first time, it becomes yours.
- Utilities: You take ownership of a Utility the first time you land on it.

- Community Chest: Whenever you land on a Community Chest space, a card directs you to a random Property and may add up to four Houses, too.
- Chance: When you land on a Chance space, a card may apply Max Megaways to the next spin, award the Free Spins feature, or direct you to a random Property with a chance to add as many as four Houses.
4. Free Spins Feature
If you receive a fifth House on a Property or a Chance card awards the Free Spins feature, you’ll win eight free spins. You can also get more free spins for retriggering the feature or owning five Houses on Properties. Each Train Station you own gives you an extra free spin, too.
The Free Spins feature has an unlimited win multiplier: this starts at 1x but increases by +1 for each Utility you own. The multiplier also increases each time a House is added to a Property during the feature. Here are a few key points about the feature:

I enjoyed my time with Monopoly Megaways, and Big Time Gaming has done a great job of reconfiguring the board game as a slot. In particular, the Reel Adventure mechanic works well and keeps the action moving quickly. But the Free Spins feature is one of the strongest components of the game, with the potential to award bigger wins thanks to the unlimited win multiplier.
